Cosmetic Treatments for

Saggy Jowls

As we age, the amount of hyaluronic acid and collagen decreases in our skin. Combined with sun damage. smoking and other lifestyle factors, this causes our collagen levels to deplete. The result can be sagging around the lower face and sometimes “jowls” around the mouth. Some patients may also dislike loose skin under their eyes. Non surgical treatments are best started early, advanced laxity may require surgical intervention if you desire a marked result.

What can be done to help saggy jowls?

Dr Woodcock will discuss a skin regime first and strict spf everyday to prevent further skin damage. We will then explain the use of collagen stimulating procedures such as microneedling, ablative Laser, Profhilo, Morpheus8 and Chemical resurfacing. Undergoing regular procedures to produce collagen will keep your skin in the best condition, as collagen is what gives our skin strength and support. These treatments are best started early, rather than once the laxity is advanced.

We are the first clinic in Norfolk and Suffolk to have the Morpheus8 skin tightening machine. This radiofrequency microneedling device will stimulate collagen and increase tightening and the quality of your skin. We advise a course of 3 treatments if you have laxity. Maintenance is then 1 treatment approx every 6-12 months.

Once your skin is optimised, some patients may benefit from improving the skin appearance further, and we can advise on laser resurfacing or IPL to reduce skin discolouration.
